Paint the Town Green is a monthlong campaign that celebrates the power of mentorship and honors our 50th Anniversary

Paint the Town Green is a community-wide celebration inviting Asbury Park businesses to show their support for youth mentoring. By turning storefronts, menus, offices, and social feeds green, businesses help raise awareness for the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey and demonstrate their commitment to building brighter futures for young people in our community. It’s a simple, visible, and meaningful way to make an impact together.

WHAT? WHY? HOW?

WHAT? This is not a fundraiser. Paint the Town Green with us and spread the message and mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. By using green in your business or organization during the month of April you can help spread the word on why mentoring matters and how it positively impacts youth and our communities.

WHY? To inspire more individuals to step up as mentors in the community and help make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

HOW? It’s simple. Use green any way you’d like to bring awareness to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey and highlight our mission to empower children in our community. 

Designed to raise awareness – not funds – Paint the Town Green highlights the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the life-changing impact mentoring has on youth. By participating, you’ll help spark conversations, inspire others to become Bigs, and show that each of us has a role to play in creating BIGGER futures.

The 2026 campaign has ended but we’ll be back next year!

2. Your logo will be included on our website, and your business or organization’s location will be featured on a Paint the Town Green partnership map.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

CUSTOMER & COMMUNITY INTERACTION

• Photo Op Station: Create a green-themed corner with props and a #PaintTheTownGreen sign for guests to snap photos.
• Chalk Your Walk: Use green chalk to decorate sidewalks with mentoring messages.
• Tabletop Signs or Flyers: Place messaging in lobbies, waiting areas, or on tables.

CREATIVE & UNIQUE

• Fitness Studios: Host a “Wear Green Workout” class or yoga session.
• Retail Shops: Create a “Go Green” rack or BBBS info station.
• Green-Themed Treats: Offer green cupcakes, cookies, pastries, macarons, matcha drinks, or mint lattes for a certain time during the month or the whole month long.
• Decorate Your Display Case: Use green signage, sprinkles, and frosting to bring awareness to the cause
• Green Dish Feature: Highlight a green dish like pesto pasta, green smoothie, salads, or guacamole specials.
• Custom Drink Names: Rename drinks for the week, e.g., “The BIG Blend,” “The Little Latte,” or “Matcha for Mentors.”

• Share Photos of Your Green Display: Tag @BBBSCNNJ and use #PaintTheTownGreenAP
• Mentoring Matters Post: Share a social media post with a BBBS message or story during the week.
• Reels or Stories Challenge: Film a quick video saying why you support youth mentoring and challenge another business to do the same.
