Mentorship That Meets Young People Where They Are

We’re always listening to our community and one thing we hear often from potential volunteers is, “I want to mentor, but my schedule makes it hard to commit to this opportunity”. At the same time, we know that today’s students are navigating more pressure, more transitions, and more uncertainty than ever, and they still need consistent, caring adults in their corner.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce BBBS Connect, a new, more flexible mentoring experience designed to meet the needs of both Bigs and Littles.

What Is BBBS Connect?

BBBS Connect is a one-to-one mentoring program that blends virtual connections with intentional in-person experiences. Matches primarily connect online, through guided conversations, check-ins, and activities, and occasionally come together for scheduled in-person events and activities.

This model removes common barriers like travel time and complicated scheduling, while still maintaining what matters most: a meaningful, supportive relationship between a mentor and a young person.

BBBS Connect is designed for high school students as they prepare for life after graduation, whether they’re exploring college, career, or workforce pathways, or building confidence, leadership, and essential life skills. The program also invites volunteer mentors who want to make a meaningful impact but need flexibility, are comfortable connecting virtually, and believe that showing up consistently (no matter the format) can make a lasting difference in a young person’s life.

Our hope is for BBBS Connect to allow us to reach more teens at a critical point in their lives, while also engaging volunteers who may not have been able to participate in our mentorship programs before.
